We
have to start by saying, we cannot stress enough how good this car
is, hopefully the pictures do it justice, because this is one of the
most exciting releases we have seen in a while. Handmade in resin
by Benoît Moro, this is the final incarnation of the car - the
Mk IV.
The driving concept for this version was the use use of the lightest
structural teqhnique then known, aluminium honeycomb. Built in the
US using a different frame and bodywork - and returning to the 7 litre
engine - they were raced by an American team who again won Le Mans
for Ford. This was the ultimate evolution of the car capable of 220mph.
| The
first all-American win at Le Mans was achieved by Dan Gurney
and A.J. Foyt. The victory came 10 days after Foyt won the Indy
500 and one week before Gurney won the Belgian Grand Prix. |

Henry
Ford II's dream of GT had turned into a fairy-tale and truly
rubbed Ferrari's nose in it. Ford had established itself as
a major force in the racing world. The historic car is now a
permanent fixture in The Henry Ford Museum. |
