Track & Racin Sets.
On this page there is some useful information
regarding track and sets to read before
going shopping.
If you are new to the hobby and want to
get started, then buying a set is the most
cost effective and easiest way to get going,
they are subsidised by manufactuers and
contain everything you need in one box.
The most common question we get asked is:
Which manufacturer should I choose?
All sorts of factors can influence they
type or make of set you choose, things like
the space you have available, whether the
layout will be permanent, what type of cars
you prefer. The decision does come down
to personal choice in the end. What we can
say is that all the sets we sell are excellent
quality and represent very good value for
money.
| Scalextric
is a brand that everyone knows and their
Sport circuit track system is very popular,
a bit easier to put together than the
old 'Classic' circuit and a more consistent
voltage is achieved with improved electrical
connections. The new track system can
be linked to the old, via a Convertor
straight (C8222). Big backing from Hornby
means the product will continue to evolve,
if you like to go with the product which
has the biggest following, then Scalextric
could be for you. |

Scalextric
Digital is the latest era for slot
racing, just the same as the previous
Scalextric system but digital adds a
more dynamic racing experience.The
main difference with Scalextric Digital
is that it allows up to 6 cars to race
at the same time with lane changing
functionality on any lane. We have put
together a information page on how to
go digital

deeper than other tracks. Ninco track

| SCX
also make a superb quality track system
and it is directly compatible with Scalextric
Classic track which means it can also
be connected to Scalextric Sport with
the use of the Convertor straight (C8222).
SCX make some unique track sections,
like the Super Sliding Curve set which
can add another dimension to rally races.
The SCX Pro Competiton set is the largest
set we sell currently. |

| Carrera
sets come in two different sizes, the
Evolution sets which are comparable
with the sets above and the GO range
which is smaller 1/43 scale. The GO
range is ideal for younger children
just getting into the hobby. For 6-9
year olds it makes a perfect entry level
set, very robust and good value. The
Evolution sets are actually 1/24 scale,
so the cars have plenty of room, again
an excellent quality set and track system
which is gaining popularity, currently
there is no adapater available to link
it to any of the other track systems.
